A little bit about me

Hello I am a 18 year old certified nursing aid I have experience in changing, properly dressing, feeding, and teaching people proper behavior. I also have experience in cleaning up the nasty messes and spills correctly. I have experience in babysitting/nannying for about 2.5 years. I took care of a pair of twin boys every weekend, from age 1 to age 3 right before I took my leave to get my CNA license. I had also took care of there older sister at the same time from 7 to 9. Before nannying and CNA work I did house cleaning for members of my church. I also tutored other kids from middle school till the end of hoghschool. I have always given the benefit of the doubt to every child no matter how rowdy I can handle it calmly. I have been bit, kicked, punched, and hit with random items. I slowly calm down the situation while explaining that the behavior is unacceptable. Also figuring out why their first thought was to do such things to prevent this behavior in the future.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

When I did Certified nursing aid care I had to deal with children who would cone to vist family members at the retirement homes find things that were clean for them to play with, draw, and even made sure they had drink and snacks. Along with my nannying and babysitting of the three children in a family home.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoyed taking the kids outside insect searching and flower collecting. Watching them close to make sure they didn't touch or eat anything harmful. As well as making little forts inside that were extremely easy to clean up. I also enjoyed making games out of cleaning to teach them how to clean and teaching them their early education such as numbers, letters, and and with the oldest I taught her mathematics and some chemistry.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny for me is seeing them grow and learn.

My experience with special needs children...

The twins i took care of one was considered autistic. He even at two was very picky about what he wore and would did not like change at all. I remember a time when his grandmother had bought him new shoes and needed to transfer him to them because the old ones were to tight. He fought me on it so I looked at his twin brother who was still asleep at the moment and said "well I guess colten gets them then" By the time I had turned around he was sat on the sofa fiddling with the new shoes trying to get them on.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would have to say my favorite moment was when the little girl I was taking care of. When I first met her she was quite spoiled and rude she bit me scratched me, but after a while I had her help with cleaning her room and she was just surprised she was able to have that pretty of a room. She started asking both me and her grandmother if she could help with other house hold chores. Also when I saw how her eyes grew when her and I used a chemistry set I had bought her to teach her about chemical reactions.
