More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My relevant experience caring for children includes working as a private nanny, infant teacher, educator in an after-school program, ABA therapist, special needs camp counselor, and newborn caregiver. As a private nanny, I cared for infants, toddlers, and school-age children, managing daily routines, meals, naps, outings, classes, developmental activities, and school support. As an infant teacher, I cared for babies as young as 6 weeks old. My special needs experience includes supporting children with autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, communication differences, executive functioning challenges, and emotional regulation needs. As an ABA therapist, I provided play-based, individualized support under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I have also supported children during community outings and group activities, adapting my approach to each child’s developmental, behavioral, sensory, and communication needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love getting children out of the house and exploring the world with them! Some of my favorite activities include trips to museums, libraries, story times, playgrounds, music and movement classes, science activities, arts and crafts, sensory play, and nature walks. At home, I enjoy reading together, imaginative play, dancing to music, simple cooking or baking activities, puzzles, and age-appropriate learning games. I also love following a child’s individual interests and turning them into fun learning experiences. With older children, I enjoy outings, games, creative projects, homework support, and activities that build independence and confidence. I always adapt activities to each child’s age, interests, developmental level, sensory needs, and personality.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where a child feels secure enough to be completely themselves. I believe children thrive when they feel heard, respected, and understood. For me, being a nanny is about much more than keeping children safe and following a schedule. It’s about building genuine trust, learning who they are as individuals, and supporting their emotional, social, and developmental needs. I believe in being patient and gentle while maintaining loving and consistent boundaries. My goal is to help children build confidence, independence, and emotional regulation while knowing they always have a trusted adult in their corner.
My experience with special needs children...
I have hands-on experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, neurological conditions, communication differences, and behavioral and emotional regulation needs. I previously worked as an ABA therapist with children ages 3–7, providing individualized, play-based support under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst while working on communication, social-emotional, executive functioning, and daily living skills. I also worked as a special needs camp counselor with children and teens ages 4–18, including providing 1:1 care for a young child with Rett syndrome who was nonverbal and non-ambulatory. My approach is patient, gentle, and neurodiversity-affirming. I respect stimming, sensory and communication differences, and focus on building trust, independence, confidence, and genuine connection while meeting each child where they are.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite parts of being a nanny was watching the baby I cared for grow and develop over nearly two years. I started caring for his older brother before he was born, and when the baby arrived, I eventually became his primary caregiver while his brother was in school. Getting to be there for so many of his little milestones, watching his personality develop, and seeing how excited he became about things he loved, especially music and fish, was incredibly special. Some of my favorite memories are actually the simple ones: our weekly library story times, museum trips, music classes, playground adventures, and the little routines we created together. Building that kind of bond and becoming someone a child feels completely safe, happy, and comfortable with is my favorite part of being a nanny.
