Reading, playing tag, going to the park, helping them with their bikes, exercise, making terrible art haha ( I am terrible with drawing but enjoy doodling with them). I often was the patient at the doctors office with my old family I nannied for.

Being attentive, staying present, communicating, remembering that kids and children are learning and nothing they do is personal. They are just growing and don’t know how to self soothe, it is an adults job to teach them and guide them through those moments.

Honestly so many to minimize into this one answer. But, each child I got to work with has touched my heart in such a unique way. But with these kids, I learned that teaching them and soothing them in moments of frustration or hurt or pain was such a great gift to their life. To see them know I was present with them whenever they needed me to be and calm them through situations was such a blessing. They confided in me and trusted me to keep them safe. And that is a great gift.
