In high school, I worked as a Student Ambassador and helped younger students (kindergarten to 3rd grade) with homework and some emotion regulation. We also played plenty of games and I had fun both participating in and facilitating them.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time with the children, whether it be playing games or reading them fun stories. If the child just wants to talk, I'm also more than happy to just listen and hopefully make them feel heard and understood.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I've never been a Nanny before, however I believe the most important thing is being there for the children and making sure they feel heard and understood. I don't want them to feel silenced or that their opinions don't matter. They deserve to be heard too.
My experience with special needs children...
I don't have much experience with special needs children unfortunately, but I'm more than happy to learn. I've helped a third grade boy with autism get some homework done, did the same with a second grade girl who also had autism.
