I was a youth and nursery caregiver for a church in my college town where I cared for children ages infant to 3 years. I planned and facilitated age-appropriate activities (crafts, stories, and group play) to encourage their social and cognitive development.
I was also a nanny for about a year and half for a family with children ages 11 months and 6 years. Along with balancing the developmental needs of each child, I helped with housekeeping such as laundry, meal prep, light cleaning, and cooking.
I also have many years of babysitting experience for families on and off through high school and college.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I used to work at an arts and crafts birthday party facility for children so I LOVE getting kids involved through arts and crafts. It's a great way to get kids engaged and stretching their creative muscles! I love a dance party/music time, even if that just means letting a child play around with a tambourine. Story time is always a go-to and depending on the age, I love to get kids involved by making their own stories that we can act out. Outdoor time is also something I enjoy and think its essential for kids to get outside and breath in the fresh air, move their feet, play with bubbles, chalk, scavenger hunts, etc.

The most important part of being a nanny is caring for the developmental needs of children and making sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for. Making sure kids know that they mean more to their nanny than just it being a full time job is also essential. Finally, forming a relationship with the family and making sure they know they can rely on you + being helpful to them in whatever way you can.
