Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to craft with children and find it especially fun to find age-appropriate crafts that will further their development. I love to go on nature walks aka “bear hunts”. Ultimately, it depends on the kid because some prefer certain methods of play to others! Some children like to do puzzles independently versus others want to play make-believe games where I will enthusiastically participate! I love to cultivate the infinite imagination of children, and have always been one to “play like a kid” myself when the time comes for it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is making the child feel safe around you and in their environment. Obviously physical safety is the number one priority, but it is also important that they feel secure with their nanny, so they can flourish.

My experience with special needs children...

I have taught piano to special needs children, and they have been a part of my classes throughout my teaching career.
I feel extremely comfortable and confident working with children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Oh my goodness, how can I even pick a favorite. At my last job as a toddler caretaker/teacher, we would split the class in half and I would take 3-4 kids to the play room where we could run around even if it was cold outside. This was the part of our day where the little ones would show off the most personality because there weren’t as many other children in the room. Having those small-group moments and getting to see the toddlers giggle and play was always the highlight of my day, and I look forward to hopefully making special moments such as these ones.
