I currently work as an Early Education Assistant in a preschool and transitional kindergarten classroom, caring for children ages 2–5. I have 3+ years of experience working in early childhood education settings and previously worked as an Instructional Assistant supporting student learning and care. I am completing my bachelor’s degree in Child & Adolescent Development (12/2025) and have provided childcare support through supervised practicum hours and family engagement programs. I also raised two children of my own.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy hands-on activities like arts and crafts, sensory play, story time, and simple science or nature explorations. I love outdoor play such as walks, playground time, scavenger hunts, and gardening activities. Indoors, I enjoy reading together, building with blocks, pretend play, music and movement, and age-appropriate learning games. I like to tailor activities to each child’s interests while supporting creativity, curiosity, and social-emotional growth.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most essential aspect of being a nanny is providing a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment for a child to feel known and loved. I cherish the trust, the learning from authentic connection, and the growth of a child to develop with kindness and confidence.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience supporting children with special needs in both preschool/TK and elementary settings. In preschool, I worked with children ages 2–5 with developmental delays, sensory needs, and mild autism-related behaviors. At the local elementary school (grades 3–5), I worked as a paraeducator in a Moderate/Severe Autism classroom, where I supported students using structured routines, visual communication tools, and positive reinforcement. I collaborated closely with teachers and therapists to adapt activities and maintain consistency. While I’m not a clinical specialist, I am experienced in following professional recommendations, staying calm under pressure, and using patient, individualized strategies to help children thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Although I have not yet had the experience of working as a nanny, one of my favorite classroom memories was when one of my 3-year-old students came up to show me his ‘ocean’ drawing. He had made a scribble, and said ‘This wave is loud because it's crashing with feelings.’ It was just so cute, and reminded me how young children really feel everything so strongly. I just love when they create something and you see their imagination and emotions combine. That is what I love about working with children, I actually enjoy helping them find ways to express themselves.
