A little bit about me

I am a Chicago Public School first grade teacher looking to switch careers. As of 2018 I have earned a B. A in Elementary Education with a specialization in Reading from the University of Iowa. Since I have been teaching in the Chicago public school district for two year previously having taught first grade. I am a certified Reading Teacher (K-12) and trained as a Wilsons Fundations Educator. Upon graduation I worked as a Substitute Teacher in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and an ELL Reading & Math Tutor at Kumon. Additionally, I have four years experience in Early Childhood at the Apple Tree Early Childhood Learning Center as lead teacher with newborn through preschool aged children. I have also been a seasonal nanny. My wide range of childcare experience and extensive background in education will be a perfect fit for families with children of any age who are also in need of tutoring services. My intention is to ensure that every child feels safe, heard, supported and loved!
