A little bit about me

Hello :)

I am 30 years old female with over 10 years of childcare experience. I am CPR and First Aide certified. I pride myself in providing a fun, calming, and safe environment for the families I assist. I also strive to help families with any developmental milestones or other areas of concern for their family. I love to help kiddos, when appropriate, be as independent as they can and learn coping strategies that can possibly assist them with “x, y,z.”

Other things about me- I love to craft(not great at it haha), dance, bake (simple again), and just enjoy all the aspects of life :)

"Anyssa is very experienced and always ready to jump in. Our work setting required initiative and flexibility, two things Anyssa continues to strive at. She is a go getter and problem solver. Most of all, she is extremely caring. She went above and beyond for our students and continues to do so for those in her care. She built connections with students who had difficulty expressing their feelings. She also uses her occupational therapy knowledge to assist students to be successful. She is fun and engaging and loved to bring the arts and fun into the classroom. She would be a charm and asset to children in any family."

"We absolutely LOVED Anyssa! She worked for us for a year in Chicago prior to her move to LA. An average of two days/nights a week plus an occasional weekend day/night and when I was on-call. My kiddos were three and five at the time and my youngest has special needs. Anyssa was kind and caring to us all! She adhered to my strict schedule for the kids despite their protests and incorporated fun along the way. Primary tasks involved getting the kids settled after day care/school, warming dinner (I typically prepped meals, my kiddos are picky eaters), playtime, going for a walk, bath time and then off to bed. She completed these tasks effortlessly, on-time and to my satisfaction while still making it fun. On average, I paid Anyssa $28-30 per hour and arranged for her transportation if needed. She was CPR certified and I had a background check done through an agency. Obviously, no problems, we hired her! I highly recommend Anyssa for your sitter/nanny needs! We surely miss her!"

"Anyssa watched my daughter Gia on several occasions. She consistently arrived at our home on time, ready to engage with our daughter and always had a smile on. She's kind, compassionate, and intelligent. My daughter really looked forward to spending time with her. She even came with crafts sometimes! :) I would love to recommend her to any family."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am grateful for my past experiences, as it afforded me the chance to be a teaching assistant for dual lingual classrooms, camp counselor for children and adults with various needs, a therapist assistant for children with developmental/cognitive/sensory/etc. needs, and a weekend nanny through a agency in Chicago.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I truly love to first see what the children are gravitates toward, and then build upon their interests, with the help of good ol’ Pinterest.

If a child has limited areas of interest I tend to introduce crafts, outdoor adventures, and anything that incorporates moving the body and activating the mind as much as they tolerate :)

In the end I like to guide their interests and partake with the children I am caring for.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been a camp counselor and teacher aide/specialist for children with varying physical, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I once got creative and had a indoor picnic and told creative stories with a kiddo who was bummed about not going outside. We learned a cool domino game, and had a blast. His mom texted me during the week, when I was gone, stating that he has been teaching the family how to play out game and now prefers his lunch times as an indoor picnic set up as we did. Warmed my heart haha.
