More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently work with two families in the Grand Rapids area. One consists of two girls, ages 3 and 6. The other is a 2 year-old boy and 6 year-old girl who has autism.

During Covid I cared for several infants after their parents returned to work following leave. Additionally, I provided long-term care for children beginning at ages 2 and 3 and continued watching them through their preteen years while living in Alabama.

My experience has given me a strong foundation in caring for children across a wide range of ages and developmental stages.
I feel confident in my ability to individualize care while acknowledging each child's unique needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy teaching, crafting, playing games, and reading, as well as outdoor activities when the weather permits. I also love planning outings, such as visits to museums and local events, that spark curiosity and foster an appreciation for the arts, sciences, diverse cultures, and history. I am a big proponent of hands-on learning and encouraging creativity.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Seeing the big picture and being 5 (oftentimes 10) steps ahead of them. There are so many things you have to be mindful of when it comes to caring for a child so it's unequivocally important to be aware of everything and preparing for multiple scenarios before they arise.

My experience with special needs children...

I have 1 year of experience caring for a now 6-year-old girl with autism. It is also worth mentioning that I grew up in close proximity to a cousin who has down syndrome. He’s taught me a lot about the stigmas that surround his condition while also equipping me with skills, empathy, and passion to help others.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is putting babies down for a nap! There's something so sweet and rewarding about soothing them as they fall asleep.

For older kids, I truly enjoy getting to know their personalities and watching them explore the world.
