I have a cousin with autism. I have babysat him since he was 8 years old, and he is now 13. I have another autistic cousin, he is 5 now and I have babysat him since he was 2.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One time a kid I was babysitting wanted to watch a movie they really loved. Little did I know that she would put on one of my favorite movies. I bought us some snacks, and we had such a cute moment that will forever be in my heart.

Hello! My passion for childcare began when I started working as a paraprofessional for special needs children. I had plenty of experience already from growing up helping take care of my sister, who has ASD and epilepsy, but I was nervous about working in a school setting. After the first few weeks the nerves were gone and I knew I wanted to make a living working with people with special needs. I recently decided the way I want do that is being a speech-language pathologist.
