More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have relevant experience in helping with after school programs, paid and volunteer tutoring (grades 9 and below), and experience with my relatives' and friends' children. When caring for children, my main priority is to have fun and make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. This means that we will go on outings, do activities and crafts, and have (individual/group) playtime and games. Routine is also no issue as I have experience in naps, bathing/clothing, schoolwork, and diaper changing. I also provide meal prep, feeding, the clean up of both the home and children. I’m proficient in cooking and baking and have been in the kitchen since I was 12 years old. I also participate in the supervision of meal time to ensure safety and proper nutrition.
I gained some experience through my relatives and neighbors needing childcare when I was 10/11 years old. I’m currently working with 2 families for traditional babysitting and have recently just ended my term with my previous nanny family.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When engaging with your children we would participate in many fun activities such as crafts, reading, and playing pretend to help strengthen imagination and creative development. Those indoor activities are only half of it as we would also be going on walks, visiting parks, and playing outdoors. We would also go on outings to museums, the zoo, and other educational but fun places.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me being a nanny is about building trust while helping to nurture and foster the growth and development in children. A child’s first interaction comes from those in the home and I take it very seriously because I know that many families that need nannies wouldn’t have them if they didn’t have to.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children with speech delays, autism, and mental health disorders in home care. I’ve also volunteered in special needs classes at an elementary school. My work was mainly with the ESL classes and the children that had learning disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I had been working with an infant who was inconsolably fussy but wouldn’t take a nap at all. I tried white noise, a bottle, a diaper change, and all the other usual things to help him sleep. That’s when I ended up blowing a raspberry at him and he stopped crying and just stared at me. I did it again and it ended up confusing him so much he just stopped crying and calmed down enough for me to get him to bed a bit later on.

Hello friends! My name is Bella, recently moved to the Olympia area 2 years ago! With a background of being a big sister to 3 little ones, I absolutely love taking care of littles. This includes lots of outdoor time, development in music, and activities not involving screens!
