I have experience caring for children of various ages through both personal and professional childcare experience. I have provided paid babysitting for family, including caring for a newborn, and have also cared for older children and teenagers. In addition, my previous role as a Student Support Specialist gave me professional experience supervising and supporting groups of 20+ students, managing daily routines, activities, transitions, and safety while communicating with parents and staff. I’m comfortable working with different ages and personalities and understand the importance of being patient, attentive, responsible, and dependable when caring for children. I am also CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities with kids, and I usually let their age and personality guide what we do. Indoors, I enjoy coloring, playing hide-and-seek, and coming up with games that encourage them to use their imagination. Outdoors, I enjoy things like playing catch, four square, kickball when they’re old enough, and swimming or spending time at the pool. I’m pretty flexible and happy to join in with whatever the kids are interested in, as long as it’s safe and age-appropriate
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of being a nanny is making sure the child feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while also being someone they can trust. Every child is different, so I think it’s important to be attentive to their individual needs, personality, and boundaries while still providing structure and guidance.
