More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have always cared for children, starting with babysitting my nieces, nephews, siblings, and younger cousins. I’ve also provided child care for neighbors and close family friends. Additionally, I’ve done volunteer work supporting children’s homes through school initiatives and during my time as a Marketing Officer with my previous company. These experiences have helped me develop patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing fun, creative, and educational activities with children such as arts and crafts, reading storybooks, playing games, helping with homework, and outdoor play like nature walks or park visits. I also love music, dancing, and imaginative play, which always brings out laughter and joy. I aim to keep kids active, learning, and feeling safe and loved.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel cared for and understood. It’s about building trust with both the child and their family, being dependable, and helping to guide and nurture the child’s growth—emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. It’s more than just a job; it’s about being a positive and consistent presence in their lives.
My experience with special needs children...
While I don’t have direct experience working one-on-one with children with special needs, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with them through my volunteer work at children’s homes and community events. These experiences have given me some insight and have inspired a strong sense of patience and compassion. I’m very open and willing to learn more so I can provide the best care possible.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments is teaching kids about my Jamaican culture. I love seeing their excitement when they try to mimic my accent—it’s always so cute and funny! I also enjoy sharing our music with them; it’s such a fun way to connect, and they always end up dancing and singing along. Those moments mean a lot to me.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in New York, NY: Marie M.
Hi, I'm Marie! I've just finished my degree at Sarah Lawrence College, where I studied history. I've spent the last few years working with kids in schools and libraries, and I believe those have been the years I've enjoyed most.
My main experience is from a full school year as a Teacher's Assistant working with pre-K to elementary-age students. In that role I supervised homework and academic activities, planned and ran recreational and club programs, helped with dismissal and pick-up, and communicated with parents every day about how things went. I also spent several years working in public libraries, including the New York Public Library, where I helped children and families find books and materials, answered a lot of questions, and got very good at keeping a busy space calm and organized.
