Hey there! My name is Ashleigh and I love everything about children! At the age of 13, I officially got my babysitting license when I finished my first CPR course and training. Since then, I have enjoyed many positions spending time with children such as being an assistant teacher in the toddler room at a preschool, a children's specialist at a crisis nursery, an internship at a children's counseling center, and a professional babysitter and nanny! I am currently CPR and First Aid trained in both adults and pediatrics, and I hope to attain my certification in professional nannying. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have grown up taking care of family members' children and started officially babysitting at the age of 13. At the age of 18, I became an official nanny for a wonderful family with an eight-year-old girl and an eleven-year-old boy. I spent every evening with them, and the duties included meal preparation, homework completion, laundry, driving to and from school, and extracurricular activities. Recently, I had the amazing opportunity of nannying for a six week old baby, with duties including feeding, diaper changing, and adhering to scheduled naps. I have experience with children as young as six weeks and as old as thirteen years. I have volunteered at a local church nursery and I work part time at a crisis nursery.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

With children, I enjoy all types of activities that encourage them to learn and grow. For little ones, tummy time, laughing, and reading books are favorites. Outside time and using our imagination is always fun for toddlers! Playing board games, singing songs, arts and crafts, and building are great ways to educate and inspire children! I am able to come into work with a schedule or I am able to fluctuate with what is needed for the child. I believe heavily in play therapy so I find all types of play to be therapeutic and necessary for healthy development.

The most important part of being a nanny is being dependable, responsible, and helpful. My favorite part is being a part of an extra family and being a key member in helping the family become stronger.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was the opportunity to watch them grow into wonderful individuals. One of my past nanny kids is now 16 and is about to learn how to drive! His sister is flourishing in school and in her young life. One of my other past nanny kiddos is three months old and is growing everyday. I am grateful for the opportunity to watch them develop and that I was a small piece in helping their family.
