A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Ashley- I’m 24 years old and love kids! I have been around kids since before I can remember- I have lots of experience from nannying, working at a daycare, running our church nursery and I’ve had the opportunity to be abroad loving on some special kiddos! I also don’t mind any housework and cooking that may be done as well. I believe children thrive on schedules, so I like to keep them on one as much as possible. I am very engaging with children and like to work with babies, toddlers, and older preschool/school-age kids on their milestones. I have experience with multiples, mixed age homes as well as children with disabilities. I have a safe reliable car and am infant/adult CPR and first aid certified. I am ideally looking for a part-time position around 30/35 hours/week. I believe in instilling good values such as kindness, compassion, good work effort, perseverance, and happiness in children. I have a 7 month old son that would tag along with me :)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was the nursery coordinator at my church for a little over a year and I’ve also had the most amazing opportunities to travel to Haiti for 10 days to volunteer in an orphanage and China for 6 weeks to volunteer in a special needs school/home!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’ve worked at a daycare, so lesson/activity planning is no problem! I LOVE being outdoors as much as possible. Walks, playgrounds, the zoo, swimming/splash pad. Indoors is for all the creativity! Pretend play, arts & crafts, puzzles, science experiments. If we can dream it we can do it!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Nannying is such a privilege because of who we get to be in their lives. We get to watch them grow, push them to be the best version of themselves, instill life-long values, love them like they’re our own and champion them through every stage of their life!

My experience with special needs children...

from 8th-12th grade I spent 2 hours a day helping tutor special needs students with autism/Down syndrome and a couple years back, I went to China to volunteer in a special needs orphanage where I spent time on the infant floor where there was a wide range of disabilities, the deaf/blind floor and the cerebral palsy floor! I was also a direct support professional for adults with developmental disabilities and I had my Med Aide certification to be able to pass meds and where I learned to tube feed and change foley catheters.
