Communication with the parents and boundaries with the kids but to also have fun and staying safe and of course to always clean up at the end of the day as that comes with taking care of the kids.
My experience with special needs children...
I grew up with autistic and nonverbal siblings, have also volunteered on a hospital pediatrics floor helping with various tasks for the sick kiddos.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is getting to watch the kids learn, grow, and to enjoy all the small things. My all time favorite nanny moment is when I got a gift of all a 6 year olds broken or damaged toys. Each damaged toy came with a very unique reasoning for why he was giving it to me. I could help but smile as it’s all the little things that I love most.
