More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a preschool teacher for the Goddard School for a year, which I enjoyed greatly. I wanted a more focused setting working with children so I was a private nanny full-time for a beautiful family for 2 years, before moving and becoming a private nanny for ANOTHER lovely family for 3 years. Both households had mulitple children with ages ranging from 8months-11 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Coloring, painting, crafts, nature play, swimming/pool days, museums/exhibits, playing with toys, movies, writing, reading, math games, science games, cooking/baking, cleaning (YES, cleaning!) etc. I believe all types of learning should be fun and hands-on!
The most important part about being a nanny...
A nanny is an incredibly significant influence in a child's life. The most important thing to remember as a nanny is that how you treat the children, is how they will see themselves and treat others. Treat your nanny children like the wonderful, impactful, special, and fantastic beans that they are! Never forget to lead by example and be the support they need!
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have experience working with children who have severe special needs. However, I do have experience working with children who require support in their mental health (ADHD, depression, anxiety, etc.) I have worked with one boy who had ASD.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My nanny family had a massive window facing the driveway. Whenever I would leave for the day, both children would sit in front of the window and wave goodbye and blow me kisses. I used to take pictures every time not realizing how much of their growth I had captured over the 3 years in those photos. It is always so heartwarming to look back on!
