A little bit about me

I am 40 years old, married to a carpenter for 5 years (together for 10), mom of a 4yr old girl and an 8mo old boy. I work in a dental office M-Th and looking to fill my Fridays only. I am also a licensed registered nurse (avoiding this position due to holiday and weekend requirements while my kids are young). My kids have their own childcare and will not be with me during my childcare services.

I am a caregiver by nature and value dignity, respect, and compassion for all people of all backgrounds and ages. I am a bit of a homebody by nature but my daughter is a wild child and craves action, so I like to find outlets for her to burn energy. Our family loves camping and taking weekend trips to visit family in WI and IN. We have 2 huskies and a cat, and I love animals. I am casual, laid back, and have a good sense of humor.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been employed as a long-term care nurse in a nursing home setting on a PRN basis for 3 years. While the care given has been for adults, the skill and knowledge base of an RN is relevant. I am also a parent to my own 2 young kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Depending on age, I love a good craft, themed parties or events, and “field trips.” For the babies, I like to do more sensory toys and developmentally appropriate activities.
