My name is Ashley and I am 37 years old with 10 years of nannying, child care & house manager experience. I am seeking a new wonderful family to join on a full or part time basis, I am flexible! I have excellent references from previous families I've worked for including child care, household duties, errands, preparing meals and beyond. I've worked with children of all ages and have extensive potty training experience. I love children and the families I've been privileged to work for have become like my own family and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am CPR and first aid training as well as completion of the 40 hour ECE certification and currently completing my bachelor's in Human services. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at a camp for kids who were fighting cancer for 13 Summers and gained so much from it. The challenges these kids face are far beyond just your average healthy child so although it wasn't always the easiest, I got so much from it.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing picnics outside with the kiddos I take care of. I enjoy getting them outside, going on adventures, riding bikes, going to the playground or anything involving active play, fun play. I also enjoy arts and crafts and doing fun projects with them especially during the holiday. I try to maintain a good balance, whether it be playing "I spy" games and practicing colors or singing fun songs in the car or taking them to child friendly museums, I am constantly engaging and seeking opportunities to grow and expand their minds. I take my role in their growth and development seriously & strive to help raise happy, productive and respectful little people.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Equal Trust by the parents and children. And obviously a strong & loving bond with the entire family. The whole dynamic has to jive and be a good fit. I seek families I feel I would connect with, such as the family I currently work with. We have an open sense of communication & respect and trust each other. I am treated like a part of the family & always feel as such, and it all just works! Inviting a nanny or care taker into your home is a very intimate, vulnerable and sometimes sensitive situation. It is so important that everyone involved feels comfortable.

My experience with special needs children...

When I volunteered for 13 Summers as a camp counselor for children who battled or were currently battling cancer I gained some experience as some of the children developed mobility issues or developmental impairments, depending on the type of cancer they fought, For example, one of my campers was blind due to brain cancer and also mentally challenged. This camp provided me with a skill-set I believe sets me apart from most. I developed a sense of patience, understanding and compassion for these children and it only skilled me further to work with children from all walks of life.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I worked with a family of 3 boys one day during COVID in desperate search of something to occupy them I created and built an AMAZING and quite impressive obstacle course, if I don't say so myself! The kids loved it and I got a kick out of watching them try to get through it as fast as they could. I think I laughed harder that day than I ever have. I enjoy every moment of watching the littles I care for grow and develop and learn new things. My last family I started when the Youngest was only 5 months and grew over the course of 3 years, every minute of this was enjoyable. To witness his skills enhance. From crawling to walking, to running and all of the stages in between, it is truly amazing.
