One of my favorite nanny moments was with a little boy I was caring for who was having a really rough day. He was upset, frustrated, and just not himself, so instead of forcing him to “cheer up,” I took the time to figure out what would actually make him feel better. We ended up turning the whole day around with some of his favorite activities, lots of laughs, and one on one time. By the end of the day, he was completely different and having such a good time. After that, our bond got so much stronger we were basically locked in from then on. That moment really stuck with me because it reminded me how much a little patience, attention, and care can change a child’s entire day
