The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a Nanny is someone who genuinely cares for your kids and loves to spend time w them. To see them laugh and know they are having a great day is so important. Making sure they’re fed, clean and safe. Building that trusting relationship, providing and maintaining that stable environment for everyone around.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for 2 autistic boys and their little sister back in 2013. Their grandparents are family friends and would just need time to them selves. One boy was non-verbal, very very active (7 y/o) and the other was very smart and mainly stayed to himself in his room (9 y/o). Their sister was 4 at the time and she played w her Barbie’s and play kitchens. We would have them fed and bathed then a movie to help us all settle down and get ready for bed before the grandparents got home.
I am not and was not an expert by no means w special needs children but I learn. I find ways to make their day enjoyable.
