Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like doing chalk drawing, watercolors, finger-paints, making edible play dough, stuff like kids just dance or Disney just dance, kids Zumba, hide and seek. Disney movie nights with some popcorn, icee pouches and a little bit of gummy bears are always fun! My go to movies are Finding Nemo, Brave, Tangled, and Cars. I like doing a Harry Potter movie/book thing with older kids to encourage them to read those thick books with strong vocabulary words, I get the jelly beans and chocolate frogs, and I make “butter beer” and I make one special thing from each movie like pumpkin pasty’s and such, have them spot differences from what they remember in the books, and each thing they point out gets them a “galleon” (chocolate coin) That’s for the longer jobs that last a good few months)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure that kids are happy, healthy, and cared for. Sometimes kids don’t share things with their parents that they feel safe sharing with a nanny or babysitter. I want to make sure that the child is being heard and understood, I am that child’s advocate as soon as they are in my care. My job is to make sure they are well fed, cared for, and listened to, always.
I believe that I am an adult figure that they are going to learn things From. They are going to watch my actions more because I’m an adult that isn’t their parent. My job is to set a proper example of what a loving, caring, fun adult is supposed to be when I am with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was making ice cream sundaes with these two little twin girls, we were doing a Barbie night and they wore dresses and made me sit down and did my makeup with their little Claire’s kit that’s like you know.. $5 it itched so bad LOL. Their mom walked in, and I didn’t see what they did to me. Mom SCREAMED, and then did a double take and had to apologize because they made me so unrecognizable that I was still getting makeup and glitter out of my eyebrows a day later😂
