I love helping children tune into their creativity and learn and grow through experiences. When nannying I enjoying going on field trips to museums, parks, and crafting studios. I personally am a huge hands-on person. So sometimes that looks like me helping kids plant a garden, build fairy gardens, and other fun season themed crafts.

During the holidays I always try to help the children I care for make gifts for their parents. One year we decided to write a book. This was a big deal because the child I was caring for struggled a lot with reading and generally wasn't excited about it. I helped her come up with a a unique story about elf on the shelf and her family. We illustrated each page and then once it was completed I scanned/typed all of the pages and got the printed/bound. The child that I was caring for was SO excited to have created something and to give it to her parents. After I returned from winter break her parents told me that she had read it almost every single day out loud to them. It made me so happy that something that felt so small to me was able to get her excited about something she had been struggling with.
