I worked as a formal after school nanny while being a student in the UK for three years acquiring experience with special needs children along with learning how to care for the home- my responsibilities were but not limited too of course caring for the kids but also meal preparation for the whole family 4 times a week, laundry... I also worked for one year as a toddler school teacher assistant!
I also have informal experience as I call it as I have looked after and helped raise several of my nieces and nephews and younger cousins.

The most important part about being a nanny...
To me being a nanny is not like a job. Being able to help relive pressure on the parents while caring for a child is the biggest gift for me. I enjoy children’s company above all else as I feel like we can learn so much from them.
So the most important is simply being there, available and flexible while of course providing a comforting presence in both the parents and children’s lives.
