My name is Audra Saladin and I am 21 years old. I am currently taking time off of school, but studying elementary education and childhood studies. Childhood studies focuses on well childhood! And every aspect of it; the development of children, psychologically, physically, emotionally, and socially, as well as different ways to support, educate, and encourage children to be their very best selves. I love it! I am also looking into starting my early childhood education degree as well. I have 5 years of experience working in daycares with ages 6wks -12 years old. I also have experience privately nannying a 1 year old and babysitting kids of all ages. I have extensive training in early childhood education, first aid, cpr, distribution of medicine, hazardous materials, emergency response, infectious diseases and immunizations, child abuse and neglect, as well as mandated reporting.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been working in daycares for 5 years as well as nannying, babysitting, volunteering with children, and directing a children’s musical! I have always been a caretaker, since I was a young child I have always loved helping and taking care of people whether it be my great great grandma, or the newest cousin in the family. I have a huuuge heart and love to use my gift of caretaking in the field of education and childcare. My students are my everything, and every kid I have ever watched or taught has a place in my heart. I absolutely love working in childcare and I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life :)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love doing crafts and music with children. I very much enjoy doing themed weeks and lesson plans to incorporate the appropriate developmental skills into whatever craft or activity we are doing while also leaving room for discovery driven learning and exploration. Exploring nature and the outdoors is another one of my favorite activities to do with children, the opportunity for education is endless when outside! Singing songs is also an important aid in the development of communication, vocabulary, and cognitive skills like recognizing patterns. It also helps develop the mouth and tongue muscles which is important especially for our littlest of friends. Crafts also helps with childhood development (especially fine motor), but even better, the grownups get the cutest decorations and gifts when they get home!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The very most important part about being a nanny is being there for the child. The child is always your number one priority and as a nanny everything you do is for the child. As a nanny you must be nurturing, kind, loving, bubbly, funny, patient, understanding, and dedicated. Being a nanny is important because of the impact you have on the child’s life. Being a nanny is such a blessing because you get to impact the child in a way no one else will, we’re not mom, or dad, or family, but we are your friend that wants nothing more than for you to succeed and grow into the best version of yourself.

My experience with special needs children...

All my life I have been surrounded by children and adults with special needs. I have a very big heart and enjoy working with people with special needs. I have worked with many kids with autism and developmental delays. I am extremely comfortable working with anything child with special needs. My mom and I volunteered for a challenger’s baseball team which is a baseball league for kids with disabilities, physical and mental :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I can hardly write this because my eyes are starting to tear up. Oh how I love and miss my first nanny baby. My favorite moment has to be every day watching them grow and learn, and become more themselves every day. More specifically, teaching a baby a new sign ( ASL) is so so so rewarding and exciting for everyone. That being said my favorite moment has to be when a child learns a new skill and it sticks :)
