Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have volunteered in a multitude of areas around my church involving VBS, Sunday school, Bible studies, etc. I have also been on multiple week-long mission trips where I was leading large groups of kids in physical activities as well as educational activities.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to encourage being outdoors and exploring when I babysit/nanny. I also love arts and crafts time. Anything that gets kids excited to play/laugh, I want to do that with them. With keeping safe boundaries of course, I am always willing to play whatever is asked of me!!
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most about being a nanny to me is caring for kids the way they deserve to be cared for. Babysitters and nannies are so important to help the business of parents’ lives as well as parents’ personal lives. It’s important that the kids I watch are loved well because no one deserves to have unpleasant babysitter memories. I believe each child is a sacred child of God and I ensure my best to always treat them like one.
My experience with special needs children...
I used to serve in a special needs ministry at my church where I care for, loved on, and taught all ages and all ranges of special needs children/adults.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was watching a young girl, we were playing tea party. She had this table doll set that fit « American Girl Dolls » and it was so cute. When we had arrived from her room to the play room for her tea party, she sat right down on one of the chairs and it simply was the funniest, sweetest thing ever. She was 5years old at the time and she’s sitting so comfortably in the miniature chair it was so cute!! Then during the tea party, we were being especially fancy (and also working on our manners which this was a great way to do so.) She had turned to me and asked, Autumn, if you would like to, could you feed your baby doll again? And then she leaned in to whisper to me telling me that she remembered from last week that instead of just telling people what to do, she should kindly ask them. I told her I was overjoyed and so proud of her for remembering and being such a well mannered tea party guest. It was so heartwarming and precious!!
