More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was employed as a teachers assistant at the childcare center, located at the Onalaska (WI) YMCA. I have changed jobs since August, but am looking for something in child care. Weekdays I used to spend 30 hours a week with kids ages 1-5, primarily ages 1 1/2-3. I have also coached ages 7-13 in multiple basketball and volleyball through various camps and travel seasons.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love promoting independence in kids actions, along with helping teach and develop new skills to add to their everyday routine. I enjoy walks, playing with toys, and being interactive with the kids avoiding as much screen time as possible!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important aspect of being a nanny is developing a strong relationship with not only parents, but the kids! Earning and most importantly keeping a sense of trust with a family, helps kids become more comfortable to develop and thrive in their younger years, but also helps parents focus on their own jobs and personal lives outside of busy family life!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked one on one with kids with special needs alone in a classroom, as a side by side teacher, with other teachers help. Working with a 3 year old girl with down syndrome, and a 5 year old boy with autism has only reassured me I have not only the patience, but ability to watch them grow no differently as other child. I am excited to learn more!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment as a nanny was being able to visit, stay in touch, and continue to keep a strong relationship with a family I was with for 2 summers, helping with their 3 amazing boys, after being with them for 50 hours a week. Knowing I have made a positive impact not only with parents, but with the kids, means the world to me! I enjoy connecting with them and continuing to support them with all of their accomplishments with sports and future endeavors!
