I have tutored at an elementary school for the past 4 years. I have also volunteered at that school and done things like help lead centers, volunteer at lunch and recess, and helped at field trips. I have volunteered in neighborhood picnics and helped lead various games and activities for children.

I enjoy reading books, playing outside, arts and crafts, going to parks, cooking or baking, playing board games or puzzles, helping with homework. I also enjoy doing activities that they are interested in such as a sport or game they like to play.

Knowing and caring for the child and building a strong, trusting relationship with them. Making sure they are provided with a safe and loving environment where they feel safe and supported. Earning trust from both the parents and children is important. I also enjoy getting to know each child and their individual personalities.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for my cousin, who is Autistic, and tutored children with a variety of learning disabilities and emotional and behavioral challenges. These experiences have taught me patience, flexibility, and the ability to meet kids individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was babysitting a toddler and while I was there we played lots of games and read books. When it was time for me to go he asked me to go play cars with him, his dad told him it was time for me to go and he hugged me goodbye. It was sweet to see that he wanted me to stay and made me feel happy that I had made him feel comfortable and cared for.
