I volunteer weekly at my church caring for 1 year olds. I also have babysat multiple times for family and friends with children ranging from ages 5 months-10 years old. I have also completed a year long education professions course at casteel high school where I learned about things such as early childhood development and education as well as many skills varying from engaging children in educational activities, or preparing and delivering lesson plans to basic skills like patience as well as even being able to grow my creativity through working with young children! My favorite moment while babysitting would have to be when I was looking after a child I had already previously known through the family. She told me that she wanted to be like me when she grew up! I was so surprised, it was such a rewarding moment to know that all the hard work I do trying to be the best role model I can for the children as well as making an effort to have a connection with the kids and make them feel seen really paid off. It was just such a special moment!
