Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love doing hands-on and engaging activities with kids that support both fun and development. This includes arts and crafts like coloring, painting, and simple DIY projects; reading books and storytelling; imaginative play and dress-up; puzzles, board games, and educational games; and music activities like singing and dancing. I enjoy outdoor play such as trips to the playground, nature walks, bike riding, and backyard games. I also like helping with age-appropriate learning activities, homework, and practicing skills like letters, numbers, and routines. Most of all, I enjoy creating a positive, structured, and encouraging environment where kids feel safe, confident, and excited to learn.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, being a nanny is all about creating a safe and loving space where kids feel seen, heard, and valued. It’s about patience, understanding, and being flexible to meet each child’s unique needs and personality. I love encouraging curiosity, creativity, and play, while helping children build confidence and independence. Being part of their daily lives, celebrating little victories, and sharing in laughter and special moments makes the job so rewarding. Building trust and open communication with both children and parents is just as important, so everyone feels supported and connected.

My experience with special needs children...

I have extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of special needs, including behavioral, physical, and developmental disabilities. I have helped in church Sunday school programs, assisting children with individualized needs, and have supported children in academic settings, helping with learning, routines, and social interaction. In addition, my past work in daycares, camps, and other childcare settings has given me hands-on experience adapting activities and care for children with diverse abilities, ensuring they feel included, safe, and supported. Through all of these experiences, I’ve developed patience, empathy, and the ability to tailor my approach to each child’s unique needs, helping them thrive in structured and playful environments.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when a child's family I care for insisted I join their family’s holiday celebrations. I ended up being pulled into decorating, cookie-baking, and even a very competitive snowball fight in the backyard—it was chaotic, hilarious, and heartwarming all at once. Moments like that remind me how much fun it is to be part of a family’s everyday life and special traditions.
