Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I assisted a kindergarten classroom my senior year of high school for an apprenticeship program and fell in love with the environment and working for the children. I have worked as a babysitter growing up for different age ranges and worked for the Seeds of Hope program, which dedicates themselves to working with children of all ages, who were neglected, abused, and/or come from a place where needs cannot be met.
I have always been drawn to working for and alongside children, to understand their individual developmental needs so that they can and will be met.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to spend time with children and get to know who they are so that I can learn more about their interests. "Play" in a child's life is valuable to me as it is their way of learning and progressing in each development. I love to provide materials and a safe environment where children can feel confident and express their interests, desires of play, and ideas that I can help facilitate.
My experience with special needs children...
As I have mentioned earlier, I have worked in a school setting as an assistant, which has enabled me to gain experience in working further with special needs children more than I have on a personal level.
I have a cousin who is diagnosed with Down syndrome, who I have grown up very closely to and have had the privilege of being her family and understanding better her needs at such a young age. Being younger than her and growing up alongside her, I found myself meeting a maturity level earlier because of my understanding of how and why things are different for her, and need to be different because every child needs to be looked at individually and accommodated for their specific needs.
