I have worked with multiple families over the past 3+ years. I have experience working with children and infants aged six months to 7 years old. In the past, I have also volunteered at Special Olympics events.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to engage children in creative activities such as painting, collaging, and other arts and crafts (depending on age). Reading and story times have always been a good activity for me, especially if we are winding down or the kid(s) aren’t up for much else. I love to be out in nature and I’ve found that nature walks or scavenger hunts are a great way to engage children outdoors.

For me, it is most important to always maintain a safe, fun, loving and consistent environment where trust can be built. I always will provide genuine care in order for children to feel comfortable, valued and free to be themselves with me.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not had any specific, paid experience with special needs children but I grew up with a family friend who has down syndrome and I have become very close with her. I was involved in the Friends for Life club at my school where we would assist special needs students with schoolwork and also engage in bonding activities together. I have volunteered for events with Special Olympics too.
