Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
i done volunteering at the Don Moyer’s Boys and girls club, with the K-5 grade levels for 2 years. While i also had a long term Family i Baby sat for about 7-8 years, ranging from all numbers. I started In May of 2013 and currently still working with them until the end of the month of September 2020.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Doing arts and crafts, Cooking little fun snacks with them. Going to the park or playing outside, Teaching new things like riding a bike or speaking spanish. I’m pretty fluent in spanish. Coloring and painting, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part, is creating a bond with the children. Every kid is different and it just takes people time to realized it, and some kids are more open with people who aren’t in their family circle. And i like have that big sister bond with all of my clients.
My experience with special needs children...
One of my first Cousins, has down Syndrome and i always wanted to watch her, because i didn’t like how the other people would watch her. She took a little more time and effort but it was worth it.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching one of the girls from my long term family how to ride a bike, she’s about 5. And is the most uncoordinated person i know but she tries to do everything, which is something i love and encourage. We were trying to ride the bike and she had it!! down pack but she gets scared when stuff gets close, which i didn’t know. And once she got close to the mail box she ran into it😭😭, my heart dropped and me and her little sister ran over to her. She jumped up and said “Look Azaria, i’m a stunt kid”. She had the biggest smile on her face , and i was just in disbelief. I think i have a video of it when i was sending it to her mom to show she learned how to ride it so quick.
