I have been a ACMA nurse for 5 years. Before achieving my ACMA i was also a CNA for 2 years. I have worked with new borns all the way to the elderly. I have been a nanny for several families over the course of 5+ years. I taught little league softball and helped coach baseball!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being creative and helping age appropriate children be creative and learn. I believe i can learn from children just as much as they can learn from me. I am an outdoors type of girl but can always come up with a fun lesson or games to do indoors!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I firmly believe that patience is a very important part of being a nanny. We have to leave room for errors and mistakes that can be resolved with the parents/nanny willingness to teach and understand as well.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked hand and hand with special needs children and adults. This includes paralyzed children and adults also. My patience for anyone with special needs is fantastic.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The first nanny job i ever did was with a 20 year old single mother and her 3 month old babygirl. I met her at a store when i saw she had dropped her wallet while fumbling grocery bags and her babygirl. She and I spoke for a while and we exchanged numbers and i offered to help babysit while she did daily chores and worked!
When she offered to pay me i would accept the money and then before leaving sneak it back on to the table. I wasn’t wanting to help her for the money but because i could only imagine the life of a single mother or a busy family and how much help someone needs day to day! I decided to make it into a job while i furthered my education!
