I've studied children's behavior and worked through exercises in a study at college, I've also lead multiple k-8th grade cheer camps, as well as working with preschoolers as a teachers assistant .
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Assisting in arts and crafts time is always a blast, helping with spelling to leave cards for family members is so enduring. Playing outside at the park or at water features in warmer temperature is also always something to look forward to. It's nice to see children's faces light up at how high they can go or what tricks they can do! :)
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing for me is making sure the children feel heard, understood, and safe at all times when they're with me. I want them to feel completely comfortable with asking me for anything while their parents are away, and know that I will be there to support them no matter the issue.
My experience with special needs children...
I don't have much experience with special needs children. But, I would be very open to learning and preforming research as directed before coming in if instructed.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I'd have to say my favorite nanny moment would be when I was at the park with some kids I was nannying, and another group walked up and started following me around! Which can be expected from kids with their shenanigan's, but the newcomers didn't even know I was a nanny. They just wanted to follow me for adult guidance. I did end up guiding them in a stern lesson on stranger danger that day and made sure they got home safely. Kids do the strangest things sometimes. :)
