A little bit about me

My name is Bat and I am a music therapy student at CSU! I have just finished classes and am currently applying for internships. The internship is to start in January and will be full-time. I plan to provide part-time care once the internship begins. Beyond working with families, I also have experience working in classrooms with kids of varying skills and abilities ranging from 4-15 years old through practicum placements at CSU. I love to play music and find music to be a great aid in childcare, whether it be play-based or catered towards working on developmental skills and learning! I currently work as needed at a senior living center, mostly in the memory care neighborhood, and I am looking for something full time. I enjoy working with kids more than anything! I am willing to share more about myself and my experiences if you have any questions. I look forward to providing care for your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience with children in groups through my practicum sites at CSU. I was placed at Lesher Middle School with a group of 12-16 year olds with intellectual and physical disabilities targeting learning objectives as well as cognitive and emotional goals. I was also placed at First United Methodist Church Pre-K most recently were I worked with 4-5 year olds on play-based social emotional skills.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love incorporating music into care giving! Weather its play based or used as a tool with learning, developmental skills, or other specific goals, I find it to be a very useful way to get creative and offer opportunities of connection and self expression. Aside from music making, I also love to make crafts and spend time outside!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me the most important part about being a nanny is being able to show up not just for the children but for their families. I have witnessed the intensity that comes with being a parent and it is only natural to need an extra set of hands from time to time, no matter how frequent. I find being a nanny to be fulfilling to me as a future music therapist who wants to work with kids of all types of abilities. The experiences I have gained from working as a nanny have always been so fulfilling to me and I am so eager to gain even more experience with more families.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs kiddos comes mainly from my practicum placement through CSU at Lesher Middle School. At LSM I had the opportunity to work with children from a range of disabilities including physical. I gained experience working with students who utilized AAC's (communication devices made for non-speaking individuals), and learned a great deal of sign language as well.
