Hi! My name is Bella. Those who know me well call me Sunshine. I simply adore children! I love their laughter and their fast little feet and their sticky hands! I am a Grandmother. I miss my grandchildren something awful. I raised 2 special needs children, so ,yes, I do understand all aspects of special needs. They are adults now and I am an empty nester with a young body and soul seeking to help others if you’ll have me! 🌻 I am almost 6 ft tall. Active. Smiley. Love to laugh. Find the good in all. I have strong faith, which only serves to make children seek me out. My heart is peaceful. I love to sing and read and make character voices. I love arts and crafts and baking. I’m an artist - so if you’re ok with your child using paint, we just may do that! I don’t watch tv. I don’t smoke or drink or eat junk food. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 17 nephews and nieces. I have been in charge of Vacation Bible School for 9 years and I have been part of it since I was a teenager! I’ve taught Sunday school my entire adult life. I taught Pioneer Girls every Friday night for 5 years. The Kindergarten Class. I do the set design and paint the scenery. So much fun!
I also nannied a families children for 3 and a half years in 2006. There were 3 children. A 3 yr old boy. A 4 year old girl and a First grade girl. I’m still in touch with them today. I had a nanny last job in March 2022. It ended in August. We all got Covid and then 3 of the 4 children started Public education. ( they were homeschooled) 😢 their ages were 2,4,6 & 8. What a great family! When Hurricane Ian hit in 9/2022, I stopped everything & volunteered with my church for 7 months. In May I started with a family that have a 1 yo & a 3 yo. It was a summer position until they both went to full time school . My last date there was the second week in July 2023.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Painting, drawing, walk’s , swings, sandbox, making cookies & muffins & snacks to eat, riding bikes, swimming, playing make believe, face painting, reading (especially in different accents!), singing, puzzles, dominoes, Lincoln logs, dolls, lots of imagination!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of being a nanny is keeping a child safe from danger and preserving their childhood. I am saving that period in time when their parents can’t be there. Not replacing them, but filling a void and allowing them to play and be children until mommy and daddy can step back in.

My experience with special needs children...

My brother is special needs. When I was a teen, I volunteered at a Special needs camp. I learned to Catherize and keep things sterile. I also learned how to lift someone from a wheel chair onto a bed and Vice verse.I went to college for Physical Therapy, to work with handicapped children.
I adopted 2 children that were born crack addicted. They had Mental disabilities and physical disabilities. I know a ton of cool down techniques and I love Essential Oils! I know that loud voices do the opposite of what we’re trying to accomplish & and that a whisper can quiet an entire gym full of children. I’ve used tapping, color therapy, essential oils, CBD
(cognitive behavioral therapy) and affirmations on my kids , to name just a few things.
I have college credits from classes I’ve taken to learn how to understand the special needs my children had. And I learned the best way! The school of hard knocks.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Was when I was in Costco and I heard running and then was grabbed from behind . A sobbing, huge, tight hug from a boy I hadn’t seen since he was 6! But he recognized me! I nannied him and his sister . He said “ you were my favorite one! “ He’s 26 now and we’re still in touch. He still gives me that little boy grin when he sees me.
