The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a baby to me is building an authentic relationship with the child and parents. Since I’m going to spend a lot of time with their child, I want the parents to be comfortable with me and I want the kid to feel the same.
When I was a kid we had a weekend nanny. She was amazing. She started watching us when I was 9 years old. To this day I still go to her when I need somebody or have a problem. I want to be that for another kid.

My experience with special needs children...
My older brother is on the spectrum. He is 6 years older than me and had many disabilities one not being able to walk. As I got older, I would help out my mom by giving him haircuts, making him lunch, help him get around, etc.
At the daycare I currently work at, I have a student on the spectrum as well. It’s a lot different caring for someone older with autism, than a 2 year old. I’ve dealt with aggression and tantrums, I have a lot of patience with kids with disabilities because that’s all I’ve known my whole life growing up.
