My experience with special needs children...
In the classroom, I have had the most experience with autistic students, but I have also worked with students with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and learning disabilities. I am passionate about disability equality and seek to ensure every child has equal access to play and rich learning, even if their strengths and needs differ.
Additionally, while I was an undergrad student, I worked as a direct support professional in the summers. I provided direct care and skill-building support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisted with personal care, and administrated medications as needed.
