I then worked as a personal nanny for two years, caring for a premature infant (4 months old when I started) and a toddler. The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel secure and cared for. It’s not just about supervision. It’s about building trust, nurturing their growth, and supporting their development through patience, creativity, and genuine connection. A nanny becomes an extension of the family, so showing reliability, open communication, and a true passion for children’s well-being is at the heart of the role.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was on one of the parents’ weekly date nights. To make the evening special, I set up a fun “make your own pizza” activity with the kids, complete with little bowls of toppings so they could be creative. As the older one was sprinkling on cheese, he suddenly looked up at me and said, “I love you.” It was so unexpected and heartfelt, and it reminded me how meaningful the bond between a caregiver and a child can be. That little moment has always stayed with me.
