More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My career began with children . Managing a shelter for homeless children while awaiting placement . I became a foster parent and adopted a child now adult that was in foster care. I was an Assistant Executive Director of a Domestic Violence Agency and worked closely with women and children in sheltering and court helping to restructure their lives . I became an Estate/ House Manager/Nanny spending 10 plus years with the family.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy anything that keeps children motivated and happy. Some things I supervise but always enjoy a good
Board game , drawing coloring .

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe that role modeling and helping the child to successfully communicate their needs is important. I believe that a young person should be able to be a child and spend time at just that while working toward independence .

My experience with special needs children...

My most recent employer had a child with special needs. He now is 28 and in a specialized program . My relationship with him began at age 10 Most of my entire career has been working closely with special needs families and children. Learning disabled , Domestic Violence and homelessness.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Not really a moment but many throughout my tenure watching a little girl of five who was very shy and negatively experiencing her parents divorce, blossom and become a beautiful, happy and social young woman.
