My first nanny position was with a free spirited military family.

The 8 yr. Old comes out dressed with brown /gray shorts.. a purple and yellow striped shirt and knee high winter USA flag and eagle socks.. with a pair of winter boots to go to school..
I fussed to change, he didn't match.. But, we called mom who thought the pic she received from me was cute as a button. So she said sure , he can wear it..
When the bus pulled up. The drivers eyes were huge. And she starred at me with disbelief... I quickly let her know I didn't dress that child.. and he was aloud to wear it..
My face was red from embarrassment and laughter..
