"I am writing this letter to highly recommend Brenda Barnes who has worked for us as a live-in nanny for 6 months from August 2020- Feb 2021 during a tough time period of the pandemic. Mrs. Barnes is very punctual, responsible and organized. She is honest and completes all the tasks assigned to her. I trust her to keep my kids safe behind my back. She is covid conscious and takes her precautions. She is a very neat and clean person and always leaves the guest bedroom put together when she goes back to her home over the weekend. She respects our parenting style and cultural practices which might have been different from hers and does what we ask of her regarding tasks such as baby's naps, feeds and diaper changes. The only reason we have to let her go is because of some changes in our situation due to which we no longer require a nanny."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've been a live in nanny before, and I have worked in daycare centers and a child development center. In the past I did childcare in my own home for 11 years.
I have been watching children, including my own 2 and now my grandkids, for the past 50 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

reading, playing games, drawing, coloring, swimming. I can swim but I do it to relax. I'm not a lifeguard at all. I used to take my girls swimming when they were younger, and we just enjoyed the time together in the pool.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping children learn new things and being a part of their learning experiences.

My experience with special needs children...

13 years in FCPS working with students who had autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was a nanny before, the oldest child was doing something he shouldn't have been doing, and the second time I had to ask him to stop, I told him I was serious. He said, "Well when are you not serious." He was 2 years old. Had an incredible vocabulary for his age.
