Hello, there! My name is Breona, I'm 25 years old, a current Psychology student and I'm very passionate about childcare and working with children. Over the years I've gained experience ranging from tutoring, babysitting, coaching gymnastics and daycare work. I have the most experience with children ages 1-7 but am willing to work with any group. I also have some experience with children who are special needs as my brother is Autistic. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've done babysitting and tutoring freelance. I taught gymnastics for two years to kids aged pre-k to late elementary school. I volunteered as a classroom assistant at my local Homeschool Co-Op thought out high-school. Alongside all that I have experience working in a formal Child Watch setting at the YMCA. Through all this I've learned how to take care of children and maintain a fun, safe, environment. I'm able to help with homework, household chores, and any additional tasks needed!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I personally like to avoid screen-time when working with children so instead I like to encourage playing pretend, reading, arts & crafts, and educational activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think an important part of being a Nanny is communication! Not just with the kids but the parents, it's a huge honor and responsibility to be trusted with someone else's child and I think it's important to stay communicative with parents about day to day activities, milestones, expectations, etc.

My experience with special needs children...

Growing up I've always helped to take acre and assist my brother who is Autistic. The majority of my experience comes from him but I understand every child has a different level of needs and care required. I'm always happy to learn and grow in my capabilities

The most important part about being a nanny...

It sounds so silly and simple, but I think one of my favorite moments is when a child I watched was able to pronounce my name correct for the first time. He'd always struggled and ended up calling me 'Banana' I never minded or made him feel discouraged but he insisted on practicing so he could get it right. I'll never forget when I was leaving and went to say goodbye that he finally was able to say 'Breona"! The nickname 'Banana' still managed to stick around, though
