A little bit about me

Hello, I go by Bri! I am 28 and I have a BFA from TWU. My 1st year out of college I worked with a montessori elementary school teaching and caring for students from ages 5 to 12.

I am currently an art teacher at Lake Travis High School. I love creating art with my students and introducing them to new materials. I'm convinced that creativity can blossom at every age.

Aside from art, I love songs, cartoons, plants, all kinds of critters, board games, outdoor games, swimming, sewing, and cooking.

My up to date certifications include CPR (for adult, child, and baby), First aid, epipen, food allergens, and food handlers.

I'm comfortable cooking for any kind of diet or special requirements. A fun meal is always the best meal. I like to bake often and have always loved to cook!

I am comfortable providing transportation. I am familiar with car seat and booster seat installation.

I am looking for a summer position beginning Early June and ending at the start of August.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In my high school art classes, I teach about 200 students from 9th - 12th in beginners art and ceramics at all levels.

As a guide at a montessori school, I was in charge of about 30 students from ages 5-12. I planned enriching activities around the many interest of my students like dinosaurs, pokemon, and bugs.

I was also a Lead Art Instructor where I taught painting classes and painting parties for 4 years.

I have previously spent about a year working as a job skills trainer for individuals with disabilities. Most of my clients were high school aged children who needed help with their summer or after school jobs.

Lastly, I babysat for family many times. I had trouble calculating a number for my "paid childcare experience" because my experience was never continuous. I've been babysitting since highschool and I babysat whenever someone in my family needed it. A day here, a day there. So, I just said 1 year to total up the days I've probably babysat over the decade or so.

The most important part about being a nanny...

basic protection and health needs aside, I believe the most important part about being a nanny is helping the child grow and become an amazing human being. I do this by encouraging them to try new things, experiment, discover, and create!

My experience with special needs children...

I have spent about a year working as a job skills trainer for individuals with disabilities. Most of my clients were high school aged children who needed help with their summer or after school jobs.

I also had a prior student diagnosed with autism. This was a student I worked closely with in order to tailor lessons around his needs. Something that my prebious job skills training experience helped me out tremendously with.
