A little bit about me

Hello, I’m Britt.
My professional background is in wellness and art. I have 10+ years experience with 0 months-26 years of age. I currently work in Bellevue and live in Seattle. Ideally I would like to continue working up to 35/hrs per week and a cap at two lovely small humans. I am open to nanny with a family for 1-2 years who share similar values, lifestyles & ideals around communication and general raising of children. I am happy helping out with light house cleaning where children play or create messes during our time. Personally I love to create all forms of art, read, write, take day adventures to the park or museum, play all of the games and sing songs! If you have any questions regarding my outlook, workflow or would generally like to connect and ask more questions via Zoom, I look forward to hearing from you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Currently I occasionally nanny for a family of 4. The care I provide is helping family when nanny is out of town or sick. And I help with family outings when parents enjoy a date nights or events. I am also a art teacher and artist and provide artistic based skills for ages 5-12. In precious years I have had overnight care experience with newborns, teaching art to toddlers and younger children and was a neighborhood babysitter in my youth.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Building cardboard art structures. Clay projects, Origami, Board Games, Volleyball, Baseball, Frisbee, Walking, Swimming (in Lake I am allergic to chlorine), Singing & Dancing. Storytelling & Reading. Make believe! Playing Instruments, learning new things together. Walking around the city. Talking about their interests & exploring their personal interests.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is to be a kind person who they felt cared for them or left a positive impression. Regardless of age all humans remember how they were treated. Were they seen, valued, loved? I remember. My goal is to always make my time enjoyable or at least constructive with little ones.

My experience with special needs children...

I have very little experience with special needs children except rare experiences at school or family members.
I am open to learning about the individual needs of any child who need special care or attention.

The most important part about being a nanny...

During the goodbye party for the afterschool art program one of my students came over for snacks. He was known for taking extra snacks when he thought I was not looking. I have never met additional family members of the boy other than mom and dad, so on the last day, the little bot came up to me and asked me for his share of snacks & "Extra for my brother."
I gave him what he asked for hesitant because I had never been introduced to his brother, but gave him the extras regardless because he usually sneaks snacks. Moments later, he came back and said the exact same thing “Can I have a snack and extra for my brother?” I paused and gave him a long strange look because I know he couldn't have moved so quickly across the room-He was meters away! I only realized he had an identical little brother when mom came up to me, giggled and said, "This happens all the time." Lol I couldn’t stop laughing. Years apart and yet they walked, talked and asked for the same snacks identically.
