A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Brittany and I am 17 years old. I am currently in my second semester of senior year and looking to help out as I can! I worked at Kumon (a center that helps young kids with math and reading) for the past 8 months. I specialized with younger kids aged 3-7 but love working with all age groups. I have taken all honors and AP classes throughout high school and am very qualified to help out with any school work! I’ve also grown up with a younger sibling and many younger cousins. I love working with kids and would love to be considered for any babysitting needs.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a learning assistant at Kumon; Center of Math and Reading. I mainly worked with a small group of 1-3 kids, guiding them through math and reading worksheets. Mostly early learning concepts such as letter sounds, site words, and basic addition. I also would help out with older students with topics ranging from multiplication, vocabulary, algebra, and everything in between.

My experience with special needs children...

I volunteered for a program that helped children with special needs learn how to play sports. I was one on one with different kids and taught them how to do basic soccer drills. It was a really awesome experience!

The most important part about being a nanny...

At Kumon, one of my students had a really hard time remembering 2+6. This student was often distracted but I really worked with him to improve. His absolute favorite movie was Frozen and he was always talking about it. One time, he commented that my number 8 looked like Olaf. From then on, I tried to correlate 2+6=Olaf. It instantly clicked on his brain and that problem never stumped him again!
