Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a Christian private childcare for a year, have babysat professionally since 14, am the second oldest of 10 children, am currently doing an internship with a ministry in South Africa where I am helping teachers in local South African schools every Friday, and was a nanny for all of last summer.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I believe an active and full day is important; because of this I enjoy taking children to the library, parks, on walks, to coffee shops, sky zone, any lessons or activities, to hangout with friends, etc etc. I also enjoy slower moments throughout the day where we might read, draw, or bake together! I also love to encourage the children to be independent and do self play.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is making sure that I can help enable parents to be the best parents they can be and give the children the attention and care that they need.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a sister who was born with two rare syndromes, mobieus syndrome and one that causes limb difference. She was not affected mentally but I helped with tube feeding her when she was very little and I know how to treat her like anyone else and not look at her strange. She is 10 years old now.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have too many to count, but I think my current favorite moment was when the baby I nanny said my name for the first time. It was just too precious.
