Hi! My name is Brooke & I have many years of experience w/ infants, & troubled teens. I enjoy working w/ families & I am CPR/ First Aide certified. I recently retired from teaching & hold a current, Multiple Subject, CA. Teaching Credential as well. Home Schooling and/ or Behavioral Shaping and Help are also an option, for a higher fee. I would be willing to work w/ families who have up to 5 children, for a higher fee as well. I have 20 years of experience in behavioral work & over 10 years of teaching all school subjects. I am responsible, trustworthy, reliable, honest, hard working, & loyal. If I say I will do something consider it done. I take all of my jobs very seriously & do them all to the best of my ability, while having fun too! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

...in the following ways, but not limited to these: I recently retired from teaching, where I worked with TK-6th graders for 10 years, I have ran and supervised group homes, their staff, and social worker staff as well. I have certified, inspected, worked with ,trained, studied and helped numerous families. I was in charge of behavioral programs for Aspira, clinical coordinator for Sierra Vista, raised 2 successful children of my own, lead behavior interventions in bio homes, group homes, and foster homes, held my own case loads as a Social Worker, & 1:1 skill building and anger management with children in all settings, including schools. I also was a live out nanny for a few families, and babysat from 4th grade to my senior year in high school, multiple ages, including newborns.

...are not limited to these but here are some: Educational play, home school teaching, walking to parks, playing outside, playing on play structures, puzzles and toys, imagination games, matching games, reading and listening to them read, cooking, laughing, teaching 'in the moment' throughout each day, and much more!

The most important part about being a nanny...

...is the safe, loving environment you create & provide, no matter where you are. That allows children to feel like they can be heard, make safe choices, and learn new skills and information. Creating a bond and trust is crucial to having behavioral control, communication, and respect. If there is trust, with a safe environment and open communication, without judgement, then anything is possible!

My experience with special needs children...

...runs the gambit, over numerous age levels, grade levels, and settings. I have many years working with a variety of children from different socio-emotional and socioeconomic ranges, within home settings, group home settings, foster settings, and in schools. I have worked hand in hand with children of autism, depression, ADD, medical conditions, Neuro Divergent children, ADHD & Asperger's(No longer in the DSM), and more...I have a lot of patience and truly enjoy teaching children new skills and the love of learning!

The most important part about being a nanny...

...is just like with in-class teaching. My favorite moments are usually having fun learning and the, "Aha" moments! This is when learning kicks in and they get a concept that was hard for them to get at first! Teaching them to not give up but to persevere and then getting to see the pay off for doing so! That and the thirst for learning as well as helping to create safe environments for children to learn at their pace, be heard, and to find their own love of learning.
